ASSA/ASBA: Our History
All-Star Baseball Academy (ASBA), the Delaware Valley’s largest organization for developing young athletes through mentoring, instruction and competition, was founded in 1998. The founders, John Stefanik and Mike Manning, opened the first facility (12,500 square feet) in Broomall, Pennsylvania.
After a successful five-year run in Broomall, ASSA opened the doors to its second location in West Chester, PA during 2003. The West Chester location was the first and largest indoor facility in the tri-county area — with a full size playing field. The following year, ASBA added another facility under its umbrella with the acquisition of a sports facility in Downingtown, PA.
In 2008, ASBA expanded again, opening the fourth facility, this time in Warminster-Hatboro. During that same year, ASBA relocated its Downingtown location to a larger facility.
Since 2008, the growth of ASBA programs and participation has been rapid. The new demand prompted the organization to open its first facility in New Jersey, welcoming the Cherry Hill location in late 2011.
In December of 2017, the All-Star organization officially launched All-Star Softball Academy (ASSA), bringing nearly two decades of experience and success in the baseball world to the world of softball!
